Have a Look at the Panasonic TX-P42G10

by Kristine Dougherty on Feb.13, 2010, under multimedia

With the help of some amazing internal technology, the Panasonic TX-P42G10 is able to produce vibrant images with superior brightness. The NeoPDP plasma panel contains plasma cells that are double the normal efficiency of the non-NeoPDP predecessors. This technological wonder allows for the same fantastic luminous picture, but with less energy use. So this model can produce pictures of a brilliant quality with much less cost involved from energy consumption.

The bezel frame, in its shiny black finish, isn’t as thin as other models, but it is still slim in design. With a narrow frame around the plasma panel and the silver biconvex at the bottom of the frame, the display is very classy. This silver accent separates the curved stand the television is perched upon from the thin frame, with the Panasonic logo placed directly above this metallic sliver. The oval stand that supports the TX-P42G10 doesn’t swivel, but supplies the perfect amount of steadiness to the set.

The Panasonic logo is placed directly above this silver sliver. Although it doesn’t have swivel action, the stand that the television sets upon is extremely sturdy and provides excellent support.

Conveniently placed on the backside of the TX-P42G10 are all the connections needed to hook up any outside audio/video source. There are 2 SCARTS, an aerial connection, audio ins and outs, 2 HDMI, Freesat, an Ethernet port, digital audio out, a CI slot, and all the extra spots for hooking up various components. The side of this Panasonic model provides spaces for an SD card, VGA, a third HDMI connecting point, PC hook-up, and a jack for headphones.

Also located on the back of the television are a set of fans that keep the internal parts of the television from overheating. A slight whirring noise can be heard if the volume of the television is turned down.

Along the side of the television set is a third HDMI connecting point, a place for PC hook-up, VGA, S-video, a slot for an SD card, and a jack for headphones to be connected to the television.

The nicely placed and easily viewable buttons on the remote control make it simple to program the television. Each button is clearly labeled and there aren’t so many that it gets confusing as to which ones do what. Navigating the menu on the screen is a simple task, as well as adjusting the brightness, contrast, and colors of the images. The overall uniformity of the screen is fantastic and most people find that not much adjusting needs to be done for the picture quality.

There is much less PWM noise on the Panasonic TX-P42G10 than with other HDTV models, due to the digital noise reduction. Internal speakers produce some amazing sound and fantastic bass that is rich, plus there’s no distortion whatsoever. Image details are sharp and the colors are superb in the pictures on the screen. The combination of all the best features from other LCD televisions are rolled into one magnificent machine with this Panasonic model, making television viewing an experience in itself.
