Having Troubles Choosing The Best Printing Company?
by Danny Walter on Jan.13, 2010, under web design
Printing remains a key part of any business, no matter what its size. With the emergence of numerous printing services vendors it has become easier to benefit from this service, but with so many options you need to exercise care in picking a printing company that suits your needs the best.
The knowledge of your own printing requirements and also of the ability of the printing company to cater to those requirements will always help in settling on a good vendor. Different organizations have different needs, and only after careful consideration can you select which printing company will be able to do the work for you.
The company should be asked a lot of questions about its printing processes and other related factors. It makes good sense to consider important things like colour richness in the final product, the technology that the company employs for printing, how well maintained their machinery is and so on. The number of factors can be daunting if this is the first time you are working with a printing company. References from past customers of the company and sampling its previous work can tell you everything you need to know about the vendor. The authenticity of the company’s promises can be gauged in this manner.
A good printing company would be ready for open communication, thus enabling a positive working relationship. Technical support is also the prerogative of a customer, and the company should be able to offer tailor-made solutions for your tasks.
Though the aspect of pricing is usually the last to be discussed, it cannot be overlooked while engaging printing services. The industry is quite competitive, and if your order size is large enough, do not hesitate in hammering out a better price.

Paper Bag Printing: The Fashionable Way Of Advertising
by Chris Villanueva on Jan.13, 2010, under web design
In this age of heightened environmental consciousness, paper bags are the preferred alternative of most firms for selling their items at retail stores. In addition to being environment friendly, these bags are also very cheap to produce and print.
Paper bag printing is considered an art that has to be perfected, and a lot of printing services firms across the world have excelled in this field. Previously, these bags were devoid of design and were often brown bags used by mainly grocers. But their modern versions are both classy in design and sturdy, and they are suitable for reuse.
When doing paper bag printing one has to keep in mind various design related aspects of the bag. The objective of the bag is a prime factor that will determine your choice of paper quality, as the worst thing that can happen is a bag giving way if the product inside it is a bit heavy.
After selecting the right kind of paper, the colour of the graphic that will be displayed on the bag will have to be selected. Many colours do not match with each other and if you are planning on making use of the paper bag for promotional purposes, then it is absolutely essential that the colours are just right so that the end result appeals to the customers.
The third design aspect in paper bag printing is striking that fine balance between making the bag attractive yet highly functional. The nature of the item that will be carried in the bag and the kind of customers who will be using it will decide what shape, size, or other design elements the paper bag should have. If the customer is going to carry a pair of shoes in the bag, the company can have the bag designed with attractive rope handles that are both inexpensive and are easy for the customer to carry the shoes.
You may also search for designs in the internet. You can find important informations regarding the materials to be used, tips in making a long-life paper bags, and other designing tips. Then, practice your creativity to make the most beautiful design for the paper bag.
Both paper bags and the designs on them are quite inexpensive to create and print, yet one must not compromise with attractiveness and quality of design. Moreover, all the elements used during the paper bag printing process must be environment friendly, otherwise the entire appeal will be lost.
Lastly, the message that the bag will bear and communicate must be given serious thought. Good advice in this regard will always be in store for you as most printing services companies will have experts who can come up with catchy slogans. But the message should gel with the brand identity of your organization and should not be printed without the company logo accompanying it.

Printing Services: Now And Then
by Kim Chan on Jan.12, 2010, under web design
The popularity of print medium as a potent means of spreading information to people of all types is immense even in the present era. Over the years the printing services sector has grown immensely and has reached its present form of a diversified industry. Today it is able to not only fulfil customers’ printing requirements but also other associated needs as well.
Large volume printing services first began sometime in the–00’s when Gutenberg invented the first printing press and the whole concept of relief printing came into being. In relief printing the printed matter appears raised from the background, just as you see in a rubber stamp. Relief printing is rarely in use nowadays, though there are still some situations where it is used.
Printing methods have changed greatly down the years, and these changes have been brought about by introduction of latest technologies. There are several kinds of printing methods available today and each has its own use. In fact, most customers now feel overwhelmed with the printing alternatives available in the industry.
Of all printing techniques in the market today, offset printing tops the list in popularity. In this technique, limited ink is used to print the matter, which is first put on metal plates and is then transmitted onto paper. This kind of printing is very cost effective and fast, and it is usually preferred when large volumes of prints are needed.
Other well known forms of printing that have developed over time are electrostatic printing, which can be compared to photocopying, and thermal printing, which creates the print impression by heating layered thermal paper in select areas.
However, the newest revolution in printing technology is digital printing. As the name tells you, in this method, images are digitally created on a computer, which are then checked for accuracy and are then printed. This method is flawless and fast, but it is best suited only for a limited number of prints. As the printer can customize each print in this method, it can be employed for computer form printing, where items such as receipts or invoices can be printed for different customers, with each having the same format but varying contents.
Another vital evolution in printing has taken place with the arrival of the internet. Most printing firms have their own websites that permit customers to conveniently place orders and check out designs and samples, without them having to walk or drive all the way to the firm’s premises for this purpose.
Printing has always taken quantum evolutionary jumps with the advancement in technology. The good news is that this trend is not going to halt in the coming years and you will keep witnessing changes bring down the costs and enhance the process.

by Beth Smith on Jan.12, 2010, under web design
When it comes to disseminating info to a great number of people, print is one of the most popular media. With the passing of time the printing services industry has grown vastly and has developed to its present form of a diversified industry. Today it can address almost any demand of the customers associated with printing & its ancillary requirements.
Large volume printing services through relief printing technology started during the–00’s when the world’s very first printing press was invented by Gutenberg. In relief printing the printed matter appears elevated from the base, just as you see in a rubber stamp. This kind of printing has however become a rarity these days, though not completely obsolete.
The industry has seen major transformation in the printing methods used, and these innovations were mostly driven by progress in technology. There are many kinds of printing techniques available today and each has its own role and function. The sheer variety of available choices in printing methods in fact greatly confuses the clients.
Offset printing is a popular printing method favoured by most printers these days. In this method, the image is transferred onto paper from a metal plate on which the matter is first printed by the use of small amount of ink. This cheap and fast technique of printing is highly preferred and used when mass printing is required.
Evolution in printing technology has also introduced other printing methods like thermal printing, that involves heating of layered thermal paper, and electrostatic printing, that is akin to photocopying.
However, the latest revolution in printing industry is digital printing. As the name tells you, in this technique, images are digitally created on a computer, which are then checked for accuracy and are then printed. This mode is quick and flawless, but is suitable mostly for small volumes. The facility of customized printing with this method has led to computer form printing, where a standard format is used to print documents like bills and invoices whose contents vary in tune with the different needs of each print.
Another significant evolution in printing has dawned with the arrival of the internet. Printing service providers have their commercial websites that customers can visit from right inside their homes or offices and register orders after seeing online printing samples.
Printing has always taken giant evolutionary leaps with the advancement in technology. The great news is that this trend of change is going to continue in the future too, ushering in positive advancements to improve performance and lower costs.

Effective Brochure Design Tips For Those New In Business
by Susan Wong on Nov.30, 2009, under web design
Have you ever considered that a leaflet can be one of the most influential of all your selling materials?
It is a simple piece of paper but the initial impact that your pamphlet creates is profound. If it’s shabby and unattractive your prospect is left with the same feeling. This will slow down your business development.
Having a pamphlet professionally designed and published is a key to success in a jam-packed marketplace. Taking the time to make sure that your pamphlet presents all the key data in a way that is easily understood is something that only a professional can do.
If you are just getting started in business you may be tempted to do your pamphlet yourself. When I first started in business I did everything myself – not a good choice. That is why it took me 12 years before I was even relatively prosperous. Heed my warning – go professional from day one on your marketing materials. They are an investment and not an expense. Professionally created materials will deliver you customers and the cash flow to follow – the reason why you are in business.
A leaflet has to use eye-catching design. It has to be succinct in terms of the content and last but not the least, it must be successful in tempting people to make that call of action.
Here are three key design rules to follow when making a brochure. Use them and you will see your results flow.
1. The cover:
The cover is your sales representative. Brochures are quite inactive creatures and you are not often able to ‘walk’ people through your brochure. So you need to stimulate people to read further. The cover is the starting point so must be tantalizing and sharing the KEY values of WHY someone should read further. It should answer the WIFM question – What’s in it for me.
A good design company will show you at least three to four cover designs for your pamphlet. Examine these designs to see which excites you the most. Ask your friends their impression. Does the cover answer the question WIFM? If it doesn’t energise and answer the WIFM question, then skip to another design that works or get it redesigned. Taking the time here to get it right will pay premiums later.
2. The Content:
Once they are past the front then the content has to become the salesperson. So once again, the pressure is on to be good. Do not opt for cheap inept content writers or ask the designer to write the content or worst still do it yourself. Instead make sure that a professional copywriter is doing the work. If your design company does not have a copywriter then hire one yourself.
Determine that all the important questions that a potential customer will have about your product are answered in a way that gets them to call you for more information. Do not go into ‘overkill mode’ and swamp them with too much information at this point in time. Remember the brochure’s job is to stimulate and get people to call you.
3. The call for action:
If your potential customer has read the brochure then you have done a great job. All you need to do now is give them a compelling reason to contact you NOW.
Having things like a free call 0800 or’00 number clearly presented (in big letters) can make a large difference. Having an email address is a clear bonus. Make sure these two are distinctly placed in large clear type.
Even give your clients a special coupon on the brochure or reference code can help. But above all, make sure that you add a clear call to action. One way to do this is to readdress the KEY value of your service to your prospect in a way that will get them to take action. Remember value is everything. Individuals only purchase something that is of value to THEM.
4. The part that got missed:
I did this on purpose and only said there were three points. Well the final point is the one that can get missed. It is the ‘dummy’ one. Have you checked that you have these on your pamphlet:
Phone number | Fax number | Email address | Web address | Country of operation | City / area of operation | Company name | And have you proof read for typo and grammar errors?

Key Design Considerations For Developing A Catalog With Modern Graphics
by Alexander Smith on Nov.30, 2009, under web design
A catalog with eye-catching graphic design can make it a great marketing tool, which can be at times as effective as a real sales person. A catalog displays a range of products that enable a customer pick a specific product after close consultation with relatives, friends or colleagues. Hence printing and designing of the catalog should be attractive and compelling, so that consumers find it impressive enough to think of buying the displayed items.
A catalog should not permit features like design and patterns to outshine the description of products. Hence the first and foremost thing that you need to consider is the colour combination of the catalog and how all other major graphic elements will be printed in order to ensure that the product pictures do not look unattractive. Any modern graphic design software can show you how the different patterns will look, and by making use of the colour selection tools, you can easily choose a palette that works for you.
The second thing you have to focus your attention on is the text arrangement of the catalog. You can also find out the suitability and effectiveness of various fonts and colours in advance by making use of graphics tools. The text should contain description in which a brief effective synopsis of the products is given, with all their key features highlighted in least number of words.
Adding design components to the catalog must be he next priority after the preliminary layout with text and pictures is finalized. Graphic design that is modern and smart makes the catalog visually appealing to consumers and rouses their curiosity about the products on display. Engaging a professional designer for such graphic designs is a good idea, though you can manage the task yourself if you have the required skills and creativity.
Pre-designed graphic elements are available in modern graphic design software that can be utilized to fruitfully design your catalog without much trouble. This will make sure that you get high quality designs without having to work much on them.
After the designing part is completed, you have to look for a good printing company to get your catalog printed. You should get the prints in large volume, as you can not be sure as to how many of them you will end up needing in future. You can let a designer from the printing company recommend some final improvements on the catalog that you have made, as a professional suggestion always helps to improve the results. Moreover, he can also tell if the design would come out as good as it appears on a computer monitor.

What Makes It Very Important To Let Professional Designers Create Your Corporate Brochures
by Jacob Lee on Nov.18, 2009, under web design
To make the consumers buy your product, you need to spread the word about it, which requires a smart communication strategy. A corporate brochure does a great job at it by telling the customers about what your business offers above other businesses and why your products are better.
A brochure will not be effective if it is drab, and use of graphic designs can go a long way in ensuring that you have an eye-catching and at the same time professional looking brochure. It will engage the customers and will assist in conveying the information much more effectively. This is why the job must be done by professionals.
It is possible that you can design a brochure yourself if you are technologically equipped, but it will take a lot of time for a beginner to come up with an appealing corporate brochure with graphic design. While you put in effort to make a great brochure, you may come to understand that you should rather give your attention to other aspects of your business and give this assignment to someone who specializes in it.
Hiring the services of a specialist to create a brochure for your business will not cost you a fortune even if your business is small. A pro designer would make sure that the content of the brochure is interesting and pertinent to help the customer understand the advantages of your services or products. He would have a large number of alternatives, both in terms of layout and graphic design, which can easily be customized to suit your needs. Additionally, he would be capable of getting the brochures printed at cheaper rates, which would significantly reduce your headache.
A professional brochure designer knows a lot more about making a brochure than an amateur. It is wise to leave the job to him. This is what businesses called outsourcing for better quality and much dedicated expertise but assured to be on a lower cost.
