Not A Scam – Ben Moskel And Affiliate Marketing
by Eileen Loveman on Jul.03, 2010, under web design
Ben Moskel wasn’t afraid of working hard to achieve the type of lifestyle he wanted. Starting off as a young attorney in a downtown Buffalo law, Ben handled insurance claims for the lawe firmn he worked at. He and his new wife, Lisa, who was also an attorney, looked forward to working hard and reaping the benefits. They were used to working hard in college and law school and anticipated a bright financial future together.
Even though Ben was working harder and harder, and working longer and longer hours, he never seemed to be making a financial gain. He realized the more he worked, the more financially secure he was making the firm he worked for, and not himself. In fact, after calculating the time he worked against the money he brought home, he was astounded to learn it was literally $14 per hour. Was this the reward for being an attorney. Ben thought to himself “There’s got to be a better way!” and he was right.
A junior associate who worked with Ben drove a brand new car, and she made the same amount of money as he did. H wondered what her secret was, so one day he asked her. Her response was enlightening.
His colleague explained that she had been working on the internet creating websites that brought her an additional $10,000 a month. It was called “Performance Marketing” and all she had to do was use her computer and her brain. Ben’s brain began working overtime when he realized the lucrative opportunities available to him. All he needed was the desire to learn how to build websites.
Ben created over 300 websites in a relatively short period of time. He was hooked and had found his niche. He was ready to retire from the law firm and he was only 27 years old. He’s never looked back and was surprised when he wanted to share the secrets of his success with his family and friends, only to be met with skepticsm and worry. Many thought the “internet” was just a passing fad.
By aligning yourself with a major company which provides a service or a product, you are able to create a website that will drive the consumer to their link. “Affiliate Marketing” as it is now called, morphed into a new animal, but at its heart is still basically a sales call. Only you don’t have to meet the consumer face to face – and can still make a profit!
Its easy to get started. For example, say you wanted to work with a company like Pet Smart. You develop a website that promotes pet prescriptions. When a consumer types in “where can I get pet prescriptions” into a search engine, your website will pop up. Your website will then have a link that will connect the consumer to Pet Smart, who will in turn pay you a percentage for each consumer you send to them. It is legitimate and and excellent way to increase your presence on the internet. The more websites you create, the more opportunities you make for yourself.
Ben now shares his secrets with anyone who will attend his seminars or sign on to his programs. He and an old college pal, Dave Clabeaux, have built an empire together and the result is a multimillion dollar income for both of them. They travel the world speaking to many different groups, and share their inspirational stories with others. They also have free short videos on the internet you can view, and their success has not changed them at all. They are still regular guys like everyone else who happened to have tapped into a legitimate business venture and ran with it.
Ben and Dave have developed a seminar call “The Six Figure Program” which shows you how to develop a website, step by step. Thousands of people have taken this seminar and the list of attendees keeps growing.
They have also co-authored a book called “The Online Entrepreneur, “which has been sold in over 40 countries. Their internet sales have generated over $30 million dollars in the past 3 years for Fortune 500 companies including First Bank of Delaware, Yahoo!, Microsoft, and dozens of other retailers and service providers.
Don’t be fooled by those who say the program is a scam or “The Six Figure Program” doesn’t work. There will always be those who want a quick and easy way to make money, and will try to discount this program. Don’t believe it.
“The Six Figure Program” is not a scam or a rip off. Nor is it an easy fix or a get rich quick scheme. If you want to become a millionaire overnight, buy a lottery ticket. Ben and Dave will tell you that you need to educate yourself to see what market you want your developing website to target. It takes time and effort and will not happen immediatley. Find the niche that is out there needing to be filled and you will be happily surprised at the money you can make for yourself.
There are thousands of satisfied business people who are constantly in touch with Ben and Dave, and more are adding their names to the list everyday. New niches are being found and developed everday. A scam will eventually burn itself out and no longer create interest – this is certainly NOT the case with them.
An American success story and self made millionaire, Ben Moskel is happy to share the secrets of his success by sending you his book, the Online Entreprenuer, or seminar “The Six Figure Program.
Is Ben Moskel a Scam? Four-thousand new Affiliate Marketers don’t think so. Discover the real truth of how Ben Moskel, an average guy, makes over 1.2 Million dollars per year from simple websites.
The Major SEO Problems With Number10.gov.uk
by Tom Doerr on Apr.05, 2010, under web design
Last week, Alistair Darling’s economic budget was making headlines and stirring up a big media fuss, you might expect a quick Google search of terms like ‘budget live’ or ‘Budget 2010′ would bring up the official Prime Minister’s website www.number10.gov.uk but it doesn’t appear at the top, in fact it doesn’t even appear in the top 50 for either of these phrases, outranked by news articles and meaningless blogs. For something so important with such big interest this should be a priority, to avoid critics appearing higher up in the rankings and generating political influence against the government.
You can take a further look at the website from a Search Engine Optimisation perspective to recognize what the problem might be; to avoid ever doing it yourself or to see what a bad web agency is really capable of.
At closer inspection, the Downing St website appears to have extremely poor SEO, they make amateur mistakes like having no ‘title tag’ or containing poorly optimised articles with no keywords or descriptive text. The website is packed uses techniques like stuffing it with keywords such as ‘tattoos’, ‘piercings’ and ‘polish armed forces’ that are really frowned upon by the search engines and the SEO community. A closer look of the general SEO of Number 10 shows the brand getting lost in translation, the official YouTube channel is located at www.youtube.com/downingst rather than /number10 and both refer to their media content as ‘number10tv’ even though a Google search for that term definitely doesn’t find what your looking for.
On a further note, Gordon Brown’s tweets come from @downingstreet rather than @number10 or @primeminister. All of these mistakes are fundamental basics when creating a digital presence for a brand and you might have thought the British Government could have done a little better than this.
Most companies will buy up URLs relevant to their site and redirect to their website or prevent their competition from buying them; incidentally both www.number10tv.com and www.number10tv.co.uk are both still for sale. Depending on whether Gordon Brown has an in house SEO or an agency, he needs to get rid of them.

Your Marketing Funnel On Steroids
by Angela Arnold on Mar.28, 2010, under web design
So, what in the world is a marketing funnel? Whether you are an experienced marketer with a large presence on the internet, or a novice trying to figure out your next step, you already know that no sales are going to come out of the business until some clients come into your business. If you had a store in a mall, you would throw your doors wide open and try to get as many people in as possible to look around at what you have to offer. On the internet, you try to attract as many people as possible to your website and then you guide them around it. How do you do this? By creating the best marketing funnel you can!
Funnel? How quaint that such a common household utensil represents a huge internet marketing tool!
But the simile works. A sales funnel can capture a large amount of liquid or other ingredients at its large end, and guide it neatly into a smaller container without losing the valuable ingredients. You get your carefully measured ingredients all safely into the one spot they are needed, coming out the gradually reduced cone.
Now, most of us know that when we are using a funnel, we like to have one with as wide an opening at the top as possible. That way we can get more stuff into the funnel. We use the same philosophy when we are building a marketing funnel – the bigger, the better.
Today, your blog is probably the best sales funnel that you can utilize. So now you can visualize this business marketing funnel, with all those potential customers pouring into the wide mouth of the funnel. But how do you get the process going? Those are the strategies and ideas that website business owners work on constantly. The ways of getting the funnel full include creating a site that offers valuable, useful information, complementary downloads or free advice in a weekly newsletter. Resourceful and creative website marketers can come up with endless approaches to generating that all important full funnel effect. One important part of the process is creating a client base of people who have visited your site and submitted contact information to get the free items or make a purchase. These are the clients you can work with and interest in your products or services. They will be the backbone of your business’ success.
For example, you only need an email address and their user name or first name to give a visitor access to a free download. If you want to obtain more detailed contact information, you can offer complementary items or newsletters that required addresses.
Just like the shopkeeper who wants you to browse in his store, your marketing funnel leads visitors to browse your internet site (blog or website). You can display items that they might not have been looking for but could use. This is your chance to let them know about your higher end products that generate more revenue. For example, you might be offering online courses that they could use but did not know about. If your website is properly designed you can market your big ticket items such as entire programs for coaching and consulting.
The more people you can get to slide on down the sales funnel into the narrow end that leads to your products, the more opportunities to find a client who will be purchase an item. If your site has tons of great offers and products, and clearly belongs to an internet source they can respect, visitors will get interested in your offerings. A lot of “impulse buying” occurs at the narrow end of the funnel, as people get sold on items that they were previously unaware of. Those valuable clients who have navigated to the end of your funnel and learned all about you and your business will be your best customers, coming to you and referring others to your website over and over.
Now you understand the concept and are eager to create a campaign that will build up your business and get the customers pouring into your marketing funnel-but where do you start? Your strategy starts with your blog. Blogging is one of the most powerful tools available to generate excitement and interest in your product or service.
Your blog may be great and you are blogging away brilliantly, but it will all be for nothing if you do not use it to direct readers to your business site. That is one of the functions of a well designed marketing funnel. Creating a successful marketing funnel that operates in concert with your blog is an art that requires internet savvy and business acumen. The combined impact will build confidence and trust in your expertise. Your blog and funnel must work in tandem, however, to successfully attract and guide your visitors into investigating what you are marketing. Otherwise, rather than customers flowing down your funnel, your business will just be going down the tubes.
Creating a website or a blog is not rocket science, yet many online entrepreneurs are intimidated by the whole process. I know I was clueless and felt helpless when I began my first blog. Depending on your age group, blogging and website building are new skills you have had to acquire during adulthood. But you can learn new tricks. I dedicated myself to learning everything connected with building blogs and began to create several. I discovered that it is not all that scary. You also are probably quite capable of blogging and building websites, whether you are a computer geek or computer novice. I have used my personal understanding of the learning process to create tutorials and classes that will help you learn just like I did.
Still, many people take no pleasure in blogging. It is a chore that saps their energy and distracts them from the tasks that they feel best utilize their time and creativity. Does this mean they must choose between concentrating on what they love and having online success?
Well, NO!

No SEO Needed?
by Musa Aykac on Mar.26, 2010, under web design
Recently there have been a lot of claims by certain people that a business doesn’t need SEO if the site was built up for people. What on earth is he even going on about by saying this!
one of the national newspapers has actually said that they do not ever need SEO because they are ranking so well in Google without it. Well I have just had a little peek into some of their rankings and yeah they rank in the top 10 for newspaper and news but they aren’t in the top 5 which means they are certainly in need of some SEO.
Of course the main point here is that the company will be publishing fresh content on the site all of the time which of course is partly why they are doing well in the serps, try telling an e-oommerce site that they do not need SEO, it is stupid. The guy clearly understands what he is on about to a certain extent but clearly he doesnt know everything. I would happily see his point if perhaps the site was ranking very well but the fact is it isnt doing as well as national newspaper should which makes him wrong. SEO not needed, fat chance!
Many companues that are just starting out really need SEO to help them bring in customers from the web. One of the better things you could be doing is to get in contact with an SEO company to see on prices and what they could potentially be doing for you. On top of this a lot of the time the problems will actually come from poor web design which is why more often than not an SEO Team will have web designers there to help out on the sites they are working on.
So in conclusion I think that it has to be said that it is very rare that a company will not need the help of an SEO and even coming from the guy that says you do not need it the rankings on the site itself tell me otherwise.

SEO: Black Hats Vs White Hats
by Tom Doerr on Mar.20, 2010, under web design
Popular search engine optimisation techniques can usually be considered one of two broad categories. The concept of SEO is to improve a website’s position in search term rankings so the search engines take considerable notice to how webmasters go about doing this and to ensure they keep their practices ethical.
Techniques known as ‘white hat’ are considered ethical. Because of their compliance with the guidelines of the search engines they have longer lasting effects on their search results. Techniques known as ‘Black hat’ are usually exposed by the search engines which can cause websites to get banned from the search results. People who use these techniques do not expect longevity from their results.
‘White hat’ SEO techniques do not have the purpose of deceiving the search engine and ensure that the content the engine indexes and ranks is the same content the user will view. The common philosophy of white hat practices is to generate content for users, not engines rather than taking advantage of the algorithms and tricking the spiders.
An SEO technique that is considered ‘Black hat’ involves the deception of the search engine. One popular technique is to use hidden text filled with keywords that is located off screen or in the same colour as the background as to be invisible to humans. Some developers will provide a different web page depending on whether it is being requested by a human or a search engine, giving the search engines exactly what they are looking for, this is known as ‘cloaking’.
Sites found using black hat techniques will be penalized by search engines by either reducing their ranking or removing them from the results completely. Automated algorithms will usually do this but it can also be completed manually. A big example of this would be in 2006 when BMW Germany was removed from Google results for using unethical techniques; they quickly apologised, fixed the pages and were eventually restored to Google’s listing.

Basic SEO Blogging 101
by Sam Walters on Nov.21, 2009, under web design
It seems as if everyone has their own blog these days. Companies, music groups, individuals and even peoples pets are the subjects of any number of the millions of new blogs created each month so its no wonder why you might be interested in adding to the mix with your own commentary or point of view. With all the various easy-to-use blogging platforms like Wordpress and Moveable Type the creation of a unique blog has become an easy step for even the most novice internet user. The hard part in creating a blog comes when you’d like the general internet population to start reading your material. You need to create content that is not only interesting but also a reason to entice users to return again and again to see your site updates.
Keywords the most important step while creating a blog. The keyword you select represents what the blog is all about. Therefore to attract visitors to your blog always use a keyword which is attractive and has a great influence on visitors to have a glance at your site. Put your keywords on the title of the page and other pages, all over your site, HTML tags etc. Then we’ve got content. After selecting keyword, next is the content. The content you give should be strictly in accordance with the Topic which you chose. Content should not be too lengthy or too short. If it is too long then it should be divided into paragraphs. The content should be new and it should be updated daily or on weekly basis. The best way is to include forums and polls on your site.
One of the first steps you shouldn’t overlook after creating your blog is adding the URL to the various blog directories that can be found on just about any topic you can come up with. Find them by searching on Google for directories related to your topic and add your site so that other users looking for more information on your subject will come across your blog. These blog directories can play an important role in increasing the traffic headed to your site, so it’s important to word your description carefully. You can also use profiles on any of the popular social networking sites to help further your blog’s reach. To do this simply add your URL to the profile of each of your accounts and start or engage in conversations on topics related to your website. Make sure to refrain from only talking or posting links to your site as you’ll be labeled as a spammer and your account could potentially be disabled. To be on the safe side just stick to conversations about your subject-matter and interested users will naturally try to find out more by visiting the link which will appear any-time they visit your profile page.
If you’re serious about increasing the traffic to your blog you can always offer free downloads. Whether its free wallpapers, blog themes, music files or even game demos there is always going to be an audience for anything ‘free.’ This does not mean you should offer downloads to copyrighted material, as that is a quick way to find yourself on the receiving end of a copyright infringement lawsuit, so stay legit. If you aren’t the creative type but still would like to offer free downloads, consider offering a collection of public domain materials that might be hard to find for beginners, this is content that is freely available with no restrictions on distribution. Combine these free downloads with posts related to the topics they cover and you’re looking at a powerful traffic generating combination!
The big question most new bloggers ask is how other internet users will find their site. The primary way that most users will find their way to your blog is through search engines. Whether its Yahoo!, Google, Bing or any other search portal, they’ll find your site when they search for some of the keywords that you should be creating content about. For instance if a user was looking for articles on ‘blog seo’ and I have an article or post on that topic then there’s a good chance it will show up when searched for. These search engines will catalog your website content every time that you update or add new content. To speed up the time it takes for the search engines ’spiders’ to crawl your site you should ‘ping’ new pages after you’ve created them to alert search engines to the new content. If you’re using a blog hosted on wordpress.com, blog.com or similar sites then this will be taken care of for you. If not (or if you’d like to be double-sure that your new content is indexed) then you can use free online ping tools like Ping-O-Matic or the PingNinja. Each is pretty self-explanatory, you just enter in the URL of the new post or content, then hit the submit button.

Key Good Design Practices You Should Take Note Of
by Ferdinand Emy on Aug.06, 2009, under web design
Your web site is where your business resides — it is like the headquarter of an offline company. Consequently, it is required to practice good design principles to make certain your site reaches out to the maximum number of visitors and sells to as many persons as possible.
See to it you have clear directions on the navigation of your website. The navigation menu should be uncluttered and concise so that visitors know how to navigate around your website without confusion.
Reduce the number of images on your website. They make your site load very slowly and more commonly than not they’re very unnecessary. If you think any image is essential on your site, make sure you optimize them using image editing programs so that they have a minimum file size.
Keep your text paragraphs at a reasonable length. If a paragraph is too long, you should split it into separate paragraphs so that the text blocks will not be too big. This is fundamental because a block of text that is excessively large will deter visitors from reading your content.
Ensure your website complies to web standards at www.w3.org and make certain they’re cross-browser compatible. If your website looks great in Internet Explorer but breaks horribly in Firefox and Opera, you will lose out on a lot of prospective visitors.
Avoid employing scripting languages on your site unless it is absolutely necessary. Use scripting languages to handle or manipulate data, not to create visual effects on your website. Heavy scripts will slow down the loading time of your site and even crash some browsers. And, scripts are not supported across all browsers, so a good number of visitors might miss essential data because of that.
Use CSS to style your page content because they save a lot of work by styling all elements on your website in one go.
You Should Really Consider Building Your Mailing List By Using Downloads
by Ferdinand Emy on Jul.28, 2009, under web design
Mailing list is the lifeblood of your online business. The old adage “the money is in the list” can not be true enough — if you had a targeted list of prospects to contact each time you have a novel product, you’ll be able to save a lot of effort by flea marketing it to your existing list of targeted prospects.
You may essentially build up a targeted list of chances that are riveted in your products by offering a relevant download on your website. For example, let’s take a look at a very good instance — apple.com. When you download the free iTunes and Quicktime software from their site, they’ll ask you to fill in an optional name and email form so that they may send you offers on songs that you can buy via — guess where — iTunes!
In actuality, you do not require to offer such a “heavyweight” download such as a full-feature software like iTunes. You may attract prospects equally well with some quality freebies such as a simple report, a free wallpaper, and so on. The required thing is that your download offers enough value for the prospect to be willing to give away his/her own email address to get it.
However, slapping together a simple download and putting a link on your website won’t be enough to attract qualified prospects. You will have to do a good number of homework in order for your lead-generating mechanism to work well for you.
First of all, you must place your download form prominently on your website. Preferably, dedicate a page to it and link to that page from every other page of your website. That way, there’s no way your visitors maynot find the download page, and when they do, you’ll get a good number of of them converted into your prospects!
What’s more, you have to put a little effort into promoting your download. Explain and sophisticated on the values of the download, and why your visitors should download it. You might think why would anyone want to pass on a freebie, but most of your visitors would be excessively lazy to take the effort to download it because most of their downloads just sit on the harddisk collecting virtual dust. It is hence necessary to show your visitors why they should download your freebie.
Gain An Insight Into Creating A Search Engine Friendly Sitemap
by Ferdinand Emy on Jul.06, 2009, under web design
An indispensable tip you must not forget from time to time is that individuals visit the site checking out for a heap of selective information. These surfers are hungry for information. Once they found things useful for them in a site they would unquestionably visit it from time to time.
The reason why site maps are necessary is because of its usefulness in letting the surfers understand the site program and plan and consequently, speed up the way to go to what the site are going to be showcasing. This is a location of the website produced where the main theme of a web-site may be visible to a surfer or visitant. These visitants can pick out the link to where they want to surf with just a touch of the mouse.
Here are substantial key pointers of a good site map, which assists visitants at finding optional information more readily on a website:
The site map should be the simplest page on the internet-site. keep the name “site map” so those visitants won’t be having a hard time on the lookout for it. at all times refrain from “dynamic” site maps. Those in which the visitants must find their way effortlessly to get hold of selective information. whether or not the site map is list of text links, use the title attribute of the anchor tag and include keywords inside it. putting a sentence describing the page contents under the link for that page on a site map is at all times good. it need not be the necessary navigation on the web-site it ought to supplement it. it’s very good that there is a link to the site map page and all pages ought to carry this link. The site map link may be grouped and combined with other links in the main menu on the site or placed at a point on the webpage from which is it distinctly seen. other indispensable components on a site ought to supplement site maps. as an illustration, the link color for visited links should be dissimilar from that of not yet visited links so that visitants have a good understanding which pages they have already seen and therefore, save time.
In addition to the vantages a site map showcase to “living” surfers, its likewise substantial for robot surfers from search engines. As a web developer you should be aiming at getting all visible pages on the web-site found in the search engine database. As expected a site map, ought to carry links to all pages, its an ideal thing to submit to search engines. submission of the site map to a search engine may aid in making all web pages indexed speedily by the search engine. I can be wrong since I have no information to help point out this, but it just seems lawful and logical. Notwithstanding,on a similar note, there is still a limit to complete details that a search engine could provide a visitant. As an illustration,if there is a page which is not found in the directory program of the website,it would not be detected by search engines. With this in mind, another prominence and importance of a site map is that it tells the search engine immediately to go to a specific page instead of scouting through the links.
Two inevitable questions:
1. Will the website appear as it was penned and planned even for robots?
2. Are the pages scientific and precise and efficaciously designed? Having a site map helps the creator in planning the site before he may even commence creating it. Once the pages have been decisive, the entire thing becomes simpler and the web pages designs are effortlessly matched to the creators ideas.
There are five indispensable tips in crafting a good site map:
Good site have to-have;
1. The logo should be linked to the website homepage.
Good site have to-have;
2. The site map have to be placed either on top or on the upper left, below the header. Unless everything is in order already and certain when it comes to the design, never attempt to change or make changes for a while.
Good site have to-have
3 There have to be a congenial way to go around to search the site. do not place the site map in folders that differs from one page to another, like if it is placed horizontally on one page,it should be placed horizontally on the rest of the other pages. However, the case differs if it’s a navigation strategy for a homepage. This could differ in homepages.
Good site have to-have
4 Additionally, the logo of the homepage had better be linked with a home or any equal sign for easy work around or navigation. There ought to likewise be a contact us, about our site pages to be visited.
Good site have to-have
5 The golden rule for a good site map is that the number of a visitors clicks had better be leading him each step of the way to go and not jumping to other pages. its required that the move had better be as easy, authentic and above all, very user-friendly.
How To Reach The Top Of Major Search Engine With Your Website
by Michael Fleischner on Jul.02, 2009, under web design
Getting started online is now easier than ever. When I began doing business online I quickly developed an understanding of html and web design. The process of creating new web pages and promoting the code to a live server was complicated at first but got easier with time. Once I was online however, I quickly figured out that having a good design sense wasn’t enough to give me top rankings.
So I did what most people do, I began my quest for information about search engine optimization, commonly referred to as SEO, and applied as much as I could. I spent thousands of additional dollars rebuilding my website and countless hours tweaking, updated, and changing things until I was well positioned for higher rankings.
Once I redesigned my website and applied the on page optimization techniques from reading dozens of web pages, blogs, and websites, I had a pretty good understanding of what I did wrong and how I could impact my search rankings. With the design tweaks I had made and a little extra effort, I was able to boost my position by about 40 spots. I was so impressed that I got hooked on learning more.
Even though I only saw moderate results with what I learned, it was enough to get me hooked. I finally understood that search results could be influenced not only by how you design your website, but through dozens of other factors. Some of these factors you control through your website and other via building connections throughout the web between authoritative websites and your own.
Put your time and effort into choosing the right keywords and optimize your site around those specific keywords. The Internet is crowded. When first starting out, dont try to outrank Nike for the keyword sneakers ” its not going to happen.
Build a simple website. Dont get fancy and dont try to use the latest and greatest programming language. Start with a basic website coded in html. The search engines prefer this and you can make updates easily.
Focus on link building. Submit articles, focus on acquiring one-way links, and develop a strategy for updating content on a regular basis so others will link to your site. Especially for Google, link building is an incredibly powerful tool.
In internet marketing, there are tons of professed gurus who can show you the latest techniques for number one rankings. Based on my more than ten years of marketing experience and search engine optimization efforts, Id rather keep things simple.
The good news is that although these techniques take time, they work. No more searching for the silver bullet ” keep things simple. Additionally, be sure to research software or services that can help you along the way. Don’t be afraid to get help and persist until you achieve your goal. It worked for me and it can work for you too.
